Navigating New Regulatory Requirements: What Water Teams Need to Know
April 8, 2026Stress isn’t just uncomfortable – it steals focus, energy, creativity, and confidence. From the office to NASA, high-pressure environments prove one thing: how we manage stress shapes what we can achieve.
In February, Dr Manish Pankhania, Learning & Development Coach at Watertrain, delivered sessions at the Junior Business Development Forum (JBDF) on stress management, mindfulness, wellbeing, and personal growth – giving early-career professionals tools to thrive under pressure.
Drawing on real-world examples from long-hour roles, shift work, students, elite sport, high-stakes scientific environments, and people overcoming phobias, Manish showed how high performers don’t avoid pressure – they learn how to regulate themselves within it.
Modern science shows it’s not just feel-good advice:
- Neuroplasticity – the brain can rewire itself at any age.
- Heart–mind coherence – emotional regulation improves focus and performance.
- Mindfulness and meditation – proven to boost resilience, sleep, and clarity.
- Psychoneuroimmunology & epigenetics – stress literally affects body and gene expression.
Manish’s message was clear:
“Calm isn’t something you’re born with – it’s something you train. When you do, you discover just how much more you’re capable of.”
This work reflects Watertrain’s commitment to learner wellbeing as an Ofsted-regulated organisation – showing that equipping people with practical tools is just as important as teaching skills.
Alongside Watertrain, Manish is Director of Awake Your Potential, with 25+ years helping people unlock potential through wellbeing and mindfulness. Because managing stress isn’t optional – it’s the gateway to your best self.
