Lydia Hancox of South West Water, who completed her Level 3 Waste Water Networks qualification with Watertrain, started out with South West Water as an apprentice with no knowledge of the industry. She has since then not only earned full-time employment, but since completion of her qualification been promoted to a new role of Planned Works Technician.
Lydia shares how an apprenticeship has helped her career.
What is the most important thing you learnt on your apprenticeship?
“I have learnt more in-depth information about the industry.”
How has the apprenticeship supported your job role?
“Aspects within the job that are used.”
How will the apprenticeship support your career?
“By gaining a qualification for the future.”
How well did Watertrain support you during the delivery of the apprenticeship?
“Watertrain supported me very well. There was lots of support and communication.”
Huw Evans, our Learning Development Coach who delivered the training said:
“Lydia contributed greatly in the duration of the course delivery, adding to discussion points, group exercises as well as submitting great levels of work in both her knowledge questions and evidence. She was a joy to deliver to. It was really positive to watch her development within the role and apprenticeship and I was delighted to hear her good news of her promotion recently.”
