Level 2 Diploma in Operating Process Plant (Waste Water Treatment)

This qualification pairs with the waste water operations knowledge pathway. To achieve the full diploma, the learner must complete ten units, including eight mandatory units, plus unit Option Group 1, and one unit form Option Group 2. Mandatory:

  • Maintain the quality of water treatment processes: ozone
  • Maintain the quality of water treatment: membranes
  • Maintain the quality of water treatment: selective ion exchange
  • Maintain the quality of water treatment: adsorption
  • Maintain the quality of water treatment: controlling infestation
  • Maintain the quality of water treatment processes: control of supply to distribution
  • Maintain the quality of treatment processes: UV disinfection
  • Option Group 1 – 1 unit must be taken from this group:

  • Receive, store and handle processing chemicals, reagents and other consumables
  • Carry out first-line maintenance on processing plant and equipment
  • Option Group 2 – 1 unit must be taken from this group

  • Maintain the quality of waste water treatment processes: biological percolating filters
  • Maintain the quality of waste water treatment processes: aerated biological filters
  • Maintain the quality of waste water treatment processes: activated sludge
  • Maintain the quality waste water treatment processes: rotating biological contactors (RBCs)
