Watertrain celebrates continued success with recruitment drive
April 28, 2023The daily activities of Asset Managers are imperative to operational success in the water industry. Following the launch of the new Level 4 Asset Manager Apprenticeship Standard, Watertrain looks closer at the effective benefits of asset management.
Asset management is essential for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of water infrastructure and delivering reliable, high-quality services to customers. Ensuring those involved in asset management have the comprehensive knowledge and skills needed to perform their role can have numerous benefits, including:
Cost savings:
Asset management can help reduce maintenance costs and extend the life of assets, which can result in significant cost savings over time.
Improved reliability:
Asset management can help identify potential failures or problems before they occur, allowing for preventive maintenance and reducing downtime.
Regulatory compliance:
Asset management can help ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, reducing the risk of penalties or fines.
Efficient use of resources:
Asset management can help optimise the use of resources, such as water and energy, leading to cost savings and environmental benefits.
Better decision-making:
Asset management provides data and information that can be used to make informed decisions about repairs, replacements, and upgrades to assets.
Improved customer service:
Asset management can help ensure that assets are functioning properly, leading to improved customer satisfaction and reduced complaints.
